Holidays in Agia Efemia

"A beautiful, picturesque harbour village in the north-east of the island."

Agia Efimia – St. Euphemia – is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Kefalonia.

It is located 9 km from Sami and 34 km from the island’s capital Argostoli,

Agia Efimia is a small picturesque harbour town, with a tourist mooring opposite Ithaca. It has wide streets and many tourist facilities.

There are ample restaurants, tavernas and bars for you to choose from, along with bakeries and supermarkets for your self-catering needs.

The white church of St. Euphemia in the port gave its name to the town. On the 11th of July, each summer, a big festival with pilgrims and visitors from all over Kefalonia takes place on the day of the celebration of Saint Euphemia.

The world-famous beach of Myrtos is also very close to Agia Efimia, although a car is recommended as it has a long winding road down to the beach itself.
